In this series, I made posters for Studio Ghibli movies. I went with a minimal, shape and color focused aesthetic inspired by pantone cards. Since the illustrations are basic shapes, I purposefully allow them to break the color boxes to create a bit of depth and visual interest. The type face (Noto Sans JP) leans into that minimal aesthetic, giving a clean label for each movie and crediting important figures that worked on them.
Creating mockups to give context to the posters was also a major goal for this project, allowing a little more character to be shown by using iconic visuals from their respective film.
